Ladder ball, also known as Ladder Golf is played with 2 teams made up of 2 players on each team. Each player has 3 ladder ball bolas. Bolas are two golf balls attached to each other by a string. The object of the game is to wrap your bolas around the rungs of the ladder. The ladder has three rungs: A top—worth 3 points, middle—worth 2 points, and bottom—worth 1 point.
The game is played in rounds. Each round consists of all players tossing all 3 bolas. The first player must toss all three in order for the next to take their turn. They can be tossed in any way as long as they are tossed individually and can be bounced off of the ground. The winner of round one earns the first toss of the next round.
The game is played until someone gets an exact total of 21. If they go over the amount, the points do not count. The highest amount a player can get per round is 10.
For example: If player 1 has 18 points, they need 3 points to win. If instead they get 5 points, then it will not count and they enter the next round again with 18 points—needing 3 points to win.
In case of a tie, the players will play until one has exactly two more points than the other player.
Contestants should make as many remarks, sounds, or movements as possible to distract the opponent during play. Touching the player during a toss is never allowed though.
Players CAN knock off bolas with other bolas during the game—it is encouraged.
No contestant is to walk to the ladder prior to completion of the current round of play.
